After leaving Montrottier Castle, we drove east to the center of Annecy. Annecy is a favorite vacation spot in Europe. It is a beautiful city and the lake is crystal clear - it is supposed to be the cleanest lake in all of Europe. The view of the lake at the base of the snow-capped French Alps is fantastic.
We walked along the edge of the lake in the large and shady park. The view of the lake at that time of day (late afternoon) was beautiful. We had to stop and take a zillion pictures.

From there we walked into the old ville of Annecy with it’s canals winding through the streets and delightful sidewalk cafes.
We could see the beginnings of flowers being planted everywhere. As you walk the narrow streets, that have been closed to traffic, you find little hidden corners or views that are such a delight.
We stopped for dinner at one of the cafes.
Most of us had Tartleflette de Savoie – a traditional potato dish made with cheese from this region of France – mmmmm it was so good.
After dark the lights of the sidewalk cafes twinkled on the water in the canals. We ate in the cafe at the far left in this picture.
It was hard to leave the beauty of this wonderful little ville but we were so tired!
When we got home we all fell into bed exhausted but happy.
Hooray! Wonderful day for you all!
