As we continue to make entries into our personal Geneva blog we wanted to consider the messages or types of experiences that we would like to remember and share. Our experience in the MTC was important as it brought into focus the purpose in responding to our call to be missionaries, that is; “Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.”
We love being able to serve a mission and participate in the responsibilities of a mission couple, and we love being able to do it in such a beautiful country. As we drive down any street we feel like we need to take pictures because it is so beautiful and unique. We want to remember everything, from the trees covering the roads to the flowers and gates into beautiful estates, and the unique doorways. Of course, we want to share those things that we find with those we love.
However, we don’t want to forget that first and foremost, we are here to serve the Lord and that we see small miracles or tender mercies each and everyday, whether they happen to us or to the missionaries around us. We hope that we can include in each of our postings, in some way, those events where we have seen the hand of the Lord in our lives. It may not be all of the things we see for there are many and some may be too sacred to perhaps share so openly.
Of course, we will want to share pictures of the beautiful or unusual things we see, people we meet and places we go. We love you and the work we are doing. We feel the Lord’s Spirit on our Mission at this time and are blessed and excited to be a part of it.
